I found it!

I found my password list!!! I had it all along! Geez!

Dumbest Prego-Brain Moment Ever!

I should get whatever award goes with that title! I've had many dumb moments, pregnant and not pregnant. But what I did last Friday tops them all!

I have this nerdy zip up binder that has all my important papers in it: calendar, list of bills to pay, passwords to anything and everything I have online, my extensive list of to-do's before & after Wyatt gets here (I have to write these things down, or I'll forget!), the schedule for our childbirth classes at the hospital and more! I usually keep it at the house, but I do take it with me to work sometimes.

I took it to work on Friday and when I got home I took it inside, or so I thought. Saturday morning I was looking for it and I couldn't find it. Andy helped me tear apart the house and my car, no luck! Then I thought I might have left it at work. Sunday after church we stopped by my office and searched all the offices, drawers, everywhere! Monday morning I asked all the guys at work if they took it & hid it somewhere. That's a popular game at our office if someone leaves their cell phone laying around! They all said no, then I threatened them with bodily harm if they did take it! They still said said that they didn't do it and they wouldn't do anything like that to me. I didn't believe them, but I let the issue go. Last night we went through the entire house again. Andy even looked in the fridge, freezer, oven, pantry, laundry room, all the closets, and the trash bin outside. Just to make sure I didn't put it somewhere stupid! Still no luck.

He told me to not worry about it and that he knew it would show up somewhere. I had prayed on Monday that I stop worrying about it and to not focus my thoughts on it all the time. I had accepted the fact that I learned a very important lesson the hard way: don't take sensitive information out of the house & keep it in a safe place! I changed all my passwords on the most important stuff and was going to start a new to-do list.

But...at 11pm last night, one of our neighbors 5 blocks south of us had found it on the side of the road with some of the papers blowing around on the street. I had put it on the roof of my car and left it there on my way to work Friday morning!!! He picked it up and put it in his car. He told us he had forgotten about it being in his car until last night. He said he didn't really want to go through it, but knew he had to in order to find it's owner. He found our cell phone bill and called Andy's cell phone last night. Andy jumped out of bed and drove to the guy's house, thanked him profusely, told him I was pregnant and crazy! All my papers were there except my password list. I can't imagine that the guy would call us and give it to us and keep that list, but I'm not being naive about it. I had already changed all my important passwords, so I'm not too worried, but I'll have to keep a look out. The list could very well my in my papers at home anyway!

So, moral of the story for me:
1. Don't take important papers out of the house! Especially when pregnant. When we go to the hospital I will put Andy in charge of the papers we have to take. That's still a scary thought, but he's better than I am!
2. A list of usernames and passwords is not necessarily a good idea. And that list should stay in one secure place at home!
3. Stop putting things on the roof of the car! First it was donuts, then this!!! What's next? Oh my, how are we going to care for this baby, please start praying for us now!!!
4. Slow down, take a deep breath, relax, stop going a mile a minute!!!

Feel free to give me a hard time or advice OR make me feel better and tell me about your dumb moments, pregnant or not!

2.5 Hour Expedition

We have finally started our registries!! Last week we went to Target and breezed through in about 45 minutes. Tonight was a different story at Babies "R" Us. What we thought was going to be a short trip turned into an eventful evening. Andy of course had the gun/zapper/thingy-ma-gigger to keep him interested in spending that much time in a store that doesn't have beer, tools, cars, guns, or tattoos! But in all honesty he was very helpful in choosing which products we think we need for a baby! That store is very overwhelming and it's hard to know what exactly to put on the list! I'm sure we need to check over both registries!

The best part was scoping out the car seat/stroller scene! We had to chose one that's not girly or pastel or too babyish! Andy found two possible "acceptable" options that is a stroller & car seat combo, which we found out are called "travel systems". The funny part was how long it took us to figure out how to get the car seats out of the strollers and then how to collapse them for easy storage.

I decided to look at some of the baby books to get ideas. I'm making my own, so I needed inspiration. While I did that, Andy went crazy in the clothes section and kept bringing me cute clothes that he'd love for Wyatt. We went into the store agreeing that we would not buy this little boy any clothes...we have a nice sized collection for him already! But I have to say that Andy has great taste in baby clothes! He found some cute camo tennis shoes...

and biker boots that we had to get!

After we left Babies "R" Us we decided to treat ourselves to some Krispy Kreme donuts! We ended up get a dozen assorted, and ate one each while watching the donuts being made. When we left and drove out of the parking lot and turned onto 71st we heard something fly off the roof! I asked Andy if he left his coffee up there and he said no, it's right here in the cup holder. At the same time we looked at each other and realized he had sat the donuts on the roof! Now they are on 71st street! Sorry to all the people who will now have donuts all over their tires! I wish I had my camera to take pics! We couldn't do anything but laugh, well, Andy pouted a little because he was looking forward to having some for breakfast tomorrow morning!

Good results!

My doctor's office just called and told me that my tests were all normal! I don't have gestational diabetes! Yippee! The lady who called said that it's just because I'm so sweet that the first test was high! Yeah right, she really doesn't know me! But I do like her version the best. Now the real version was probably the granola bar & banana I ate before the first test! Oops! I could have saved a lot of time & needles if I had just fasted the first time!

I will remember this for my next pregnancy...a long time from now! Well not too long! But long enough to not even think about it right now! Don't ask Andy, he'll say we're having another next year!

All about baby day!

It's after 10pm and I just got home! I'm cranky and wanted to go to bed an hour ago! When in the world did this happen to me? I remember going to a movie @ 9pm when I stilled lived at home and my dad could not understand what would possess me to go out at such a late hour! Now, I totally get it!!

I guess I'm not too tired to put up a new post though!

My hectic day started when I had to go to my baby doctor's office to get tested for gestational diabetes. Last week I had the initial test to check my blood sugar levels. The notes the doctor gave me didn't mention anything about fasting, so I called on my way to the appt to find out. The woman I spoke with said as long as it wasn't sugary or starchy that I would be fine. So I ate a banana and a nutri-grain whole grain raspberry breakfast bar (quite yummy!) Either that little stunt elevated by blood sugar level or I could have gestational diabetes. The normal level is 70-139 and mine was at 161.

So...that brought me to today! I had to be at the doctor's office at 8am (and of course I was a little late) to get the order and then go to the lab. They wanted a urine sample but I had already gone to the bathroom on my way there, so they didn't get much! They took the first sample of blood which had to be in the same spot they took blood last week! I then got to drink an entire bottle of the sugar drink that tastes like extremely concentrated gatorade. A few sips of it is not bad, but when you've got an empty stomach and have to drink that much, not fun!! I was told to come back in an hour so they could suck out more of my blood. And the next hour and then finally the next hour! And all I could have was water! I hadn't eaten since 6pm last night! I finally got to eat @ 12:30 and have never been so hungry in my life! After I found some grub, it was off to work! I'll find out the results tomorrow.

I took stuff with me to keep me entertained, so the time went by fast. I was able to organize all the paperwork & pamphlets I've been collecting that's everything about baby. I called 2 people about possible in-home daycare's and got a lot of good info and advice. And started talking with a doula. Woo-hoo! I got to mark things off my to-do list that has to be done before Wyatt blesses us with his presence.

Tonight I attended my first baby class at St. Francis Hospital. This one was free and was exclusively about the first month of the baby's life. Very interesting and worthwhile. The instructor was this sweet older lady that used to be a college professor for childhood development. There were two other couples and me. Andy had to go to Langston for his job, so he had to miss out. But I'm sure I can relay all the info - I took notes!!

I don't have any fun pics that relate to this blog, but I did take a self-portrait a couple of weeks ago to capture my belly. I keep forgetting to have Andy take pics. I'm usually the one with the camera!

This is at 27 weeks...

This blog thing!

I decided to jump on the bandwagon! I've been thinking about starting a blog to keep everyone updated with my pregnancy...but here I am @ 29 weeks today! Better late than never! I felt like a blog would be another thing for me to keep track of. But I just might get addicted!

I love reading my sister-in-laws' blogs! I get to find out things about their lives that I might have been too busy to find out! It cracks me up to see what my nieces and nephews have been up to... and gives me a glimpse of what keeping up with and entertaining kids is really all about!

My mom has been telling me I should be writing things down that have happened during my pregnancy so far. Do you think I've done it? The answer is a big NO! But after seeing Amanda's and Simone's blogs I see that it's a great way to remember all the fun and silly and important stuff! And what better way to keep track and share at the same time.

Life is crazy right now. Preparing for Wyatt's arrival and me being a temporary home for him has been a whirlwind! So for now, I'll try to keep up with the current stuff and backtrack a little so that I don't forget it all!

On August 8th, Andy and I attended a wedding for friends of ours from our Life Group/Bible Study from our church! The weather was perfect for their outdoor wedding. It was at Skelly Lodge in Catoosa. Only a couple miles from where I grew up at and I'd never been there! Andy had DJ'd there before. We had a great time!!!

Ashlyn & Billy: The Newlyweds!

Chris the singer is in our Life Group and most of the band is from our church. They were awesome!

Our friends and Life Group leaders Sherry & Jason!

I found a cute maternity dress for $16 that showed off my baby bump!

And cute pink heels that surprisingly didn't hurt my feet!

I'm sure there is more to share, but for now that's all!
