Andy & I decided that the room that was our messy office/catch all room would be turned into Wyatt's room. We couldn't move the office stuff out until our roommate moved out in June.
At the end of June, Andy disassembled the desk to move it. Oh what a mess I have!!!
By the end of July we had moved all the bigger stuff and this is what I had left to go through. I wanted to take my time and go through all the junk I had piled up. Andy gave me until the end of August to finish my organizing project! I didn't completely get done, so now all these boxes are in the living room!!! I need professional help!! He calls it my migrating clutter!
Andy started the transformation of Wyatt's room last weekend by testing out the red paint for the walls. It was taking him a while, so I went to check on him and this is what I found...this is what he considers "test spots"!!! I'm sure glad we like this red!!!
So...this brings us to this evening. We're painting all four walls this bright red starting tomorrow morning. Well, not me...Andy and his parents! I'll be working on the clutter in the living room!
The south wall w/the window...
The east wall....
The north wall w/ entrance door....
And the west wall w/ the closet...
I decided today after talking to Jason to paint the ceiling BLACK!!!! It's bold, but what the heck, it's just paint!!! Andy started with the ceiling tonight!
We've got a lot more ideas for his room rolling around in our heads. Obviously, we're doing red and black for the colors. We found cool diamond plate crown molding, base boards, and switch & outlet covers. His changing table/dresser will be a black craftsman toolbox on wheels. His crib will be black. I had a guy from work weld together wrenches to spell his name, they look AMAZING! And we found black and white checkered fabric that will be his crib bedding and curtain valance! We've seen a lot more things we'd like to do in the room, but we're going to limit ourselves for now and gradually add things as he gets older. I'm sure Wyatt won't care about his room for a while, but Andy is sure enjoying all this!!! We'll give updates on the progress!
